Well where do I start? We had a lovely weekend once again. Mr M's parents came to visit on Saturday, Little L and Miss E both love to spend time with both sets of their grandparents, we are very lucky in that they are both close by and a big part of their lives. We went to Biggleswade a little market town and had a wonder around the market and the shops and then had a coffee in the coffee shop that over looks the market square, so we sat and watched the world go by. I grew up in Biggleswade and i really do miss it. Its amazing how being in a certain place or a certain smell or sound can take you right back to a different part of your life. So many memories of the market square span through my life, from doing the shopping with my Nan, to watching the Christmas lights being turned on, to being a little bit worse for wear after coming out of one of the many pubs to pushing Miss E through it for the first time when she was 2 days old hoping that i would see someone i know so that i could show her off. All of these memories came flooding back to me as i sat outside the coffee shop under the heater watching people go about their business.
On Sunday we just had a day at home, lots of puzzles, snuggles, and watching films. I do feel a bit guilty that we have been spending so much time inside lately, but the kids don't seem to mind, especially Miss E as there has been lots of film watching, crafts and baking.
Mr scarecrow is all finished, hes quite a jolly little fellow even with his wonky smile. I cant take the credit for the pattern, you can find the pattern here.
I've also made this daisy ring too this week, i have to say i am quite proud of this because still being quite a newby crocheter it is the first thing that i have created without a pattern, i just made it up myself. If anyone is interested in the pattern let me know and i will have a go at writing it up for you. This ring makes me think of spring, i really do long for spring and summer now, i have had enough of the cold, gloomy, dreary winter. I long to see blue skies and sunshine and flowers.
Did you all have a good valentines day? Did any of you do anything nice? I have to say i have become a bit of a scrooge when it comes to valentines day. I tell Mr M that i love him everyday, i don't need a special day to do it and i think couples that do only do it on this one day of the year probably wont last all that long. I think that it has become so comercialized it puts pressure on people to spend money that they may not have. We spent our Valentines night in A&E with little L : (. He had spent the day with my mum, he had a little bit of a cough in the morning but as the day went on his cough got worse and he got really wheezy, when he got home he was really wheezy and was struggling to breath so i took him to the doctors and she knew why we were there as soon as we walked into the room before I'd even said anything. She sent us to A&E. It turned out to be a reaction to a virus (that we didn't know he had, because he didn't have any symptoms of it yet). He was given an inhaler that we had to give him every three hours day and night bless him. The inhaler worked wonders. The Virus made itself seen on Wednesday in the form lots of bogie's bless him. I felt so guilty about having sent him out for the day when he wasn't well. I now think Miss E is coming down with it as she has been wanting to sleep a lot and having lots of cuddles. So i think we are likely to spend a few more days inside yet.
Would you like a sneaky peak at what i am planning for mothers day? Well here it is, can you guess what it is?
Well i think i have rambled on enough for one post, enjoy what is left of the half term, it has gone so quickly xx
